Denim & Basketball theme birthday celebration
August 31, 2015 • Birthday Parties
Dear Royal Followers,
Every now & then, we come across a client who allows us to take the "visionary" wheel and just drive/run with it. This special little guy was celebrating his third birthday. His favorite two things in the world, outside of his "mama," is basketball & wearing denim jeans. For these two reasons, we wanted to somehow pull the two items together and make a special event for this lil man.
We immediately were inspired by the masculinity of the sandblasted wood branches and found these cute wood surrounding vases that matched perfectly. In addition, we incorporated subtle touches of denim: the table runner on top of the burlap overlays, the denim yarn balls, denim around the mason jars, etc.
Adding in the basketball elements was pretty challenging but we were able to create basketball court outlined place mats. We also added in orange where we could incorporate it so this includes the free throws (i.e. cheese balls), basketball cake pops, the gum balls, and cupcake toppers.
Lastly, Another element we had to incorporate was the trending popcorn bar! For 2015, this has been one of the popular favor items from birthday events to even weddings. If the set up is up to par, then this is a great cost effective favor idea for any event. Take a look of the remainder of the event party details and be inspired!

Rehearsal Dinner: CHECK!
August 24, 2015 • Royal Tips
Dear Royal Followers!
The rehearsal dinner is traditionally one of the first main events of the best weekend of your life-your wedding weekend! Let's ensure it sets the tone and is a great reflection of what to expect for the BIG day! We aren't saying go crazy on spending here, but just make sure its organized, fun, and memorable.
Here's a few tips to consider:
1- Location: Since the wedding is the very next day, let your bridal party, family, and close friends enjoy themselves with a carefree fun filled dinner at a more relaxed setting. We find that most couples want their rehearsal dinner to be fun and an enjoyable experience. Yes, hosting rehearsal dinners at restaurants seem to be the most efficient, stress free approach, however, we like to recommend that our clients think outside the box and consider renting a nice clubhouse or even work out a deal with the wedding venue to utilize a smaller room for the rehearsal dinner since rehearsal already will be onsite. No matter the venue for the dinner, just ensure its cozy and allows for you and your loved ones to have a great time!
2- Music: If your rehearsal dinner is not being held in a restaurant, consider just bringing your phone or iPhone and connecting to speakers. Either create a play list OR use Pandora's music options. We find that the "Dinner Party Music" station is a good one for dinners. Music played at an optimal level is absolutely necessary to have in the background of conversations so that theres never awkward silence.
3-Decor: As event stylists, of course we are going to recommend decor for your rehearsal dinner. Something simple. Even a DIY project for those brides that are crafty would be appreciated. We always say no event or special occasion is too small because details are everything! If you need ideas on simple decor for your rehearsal dinner, check out our pinterest folder here
4-Wedding Party gifts: Traditionally, during rehearsal dinners, many couples present their bridesmaids/groomsmen with a small token for everything they've done throughout this planning experience and what they will do for the special day. Be sure to make this a memorable, thoughtful gift. Even consider customizing this for each girl/guy by including a cute thank you letter and maybe a photo of you and the bridesmaid/groomsmen in their gift boxes. Below are a few inexpensive examples to consider.
4-Parent/Parent Figure gifts: Let's not forget the parents or any parental figure that has played an integral role in your life. During the rehearsal dinner, this is a great opportunity during the speeches to acknowledge them and praise them for all that they have done for you. Simple tokens of appreciation would be appreciated. No need to spend tons on any of the gifts mentioned in this article. Just be a smart consumer when shopping. For the parents, consider the following ideas:
5-Speeches/Toasts: Lastly, think about the speeches/toasts prior to the day of rehearsal. Make sure its genuine and from the heart. This gives you the opportunity to be vocal about how you feel about each and every person that will be standing by your side on your special day. They were selected for a reason. Remind them of that during the speeches. Thank them for everything they have done to make the planning experience memorable.

Royal Tip: Fun Ideas for kids at weddings!!!
August 12, 2015 • Royal Tips
Haaaayyy Royal Followers,
To have kids at your wedding or not to have kids... that is the question!
Yes, a very serious and sensitive question, indeed. We won't answer that question for you here today, but if you are "stuck" having kids at your wedding (trust me, we love kids....we have kids....we just want a break from our own kids...lol), then read this blog post for some super cute and fun activities for them that will keep them occupied during your wedding.
Our first recommendation, if your venue has the space, is to create a "kids room" which is supervised either by hired, licensed day care professionals or someone you trust (just not family members so that they too can enjoy all of the fun & festivities!)
If this is not possible, then consider the following to place at your guests tables who are bringing their kids along:
1- Personalized bags or boxes containing trinkets to occupy their time during the festivities. This can include random items available at your local Dollar Store or even in the Dollar bins at Michaels Arts & Crafts.
Items such as customized coloring books that are wedding oriented; consider scavenger hunts, so the young, creative minds can search for things throughout the reception (i.e. the woman wearing a green gown or even simple searches such as the father of the bride)- whatever you decide, make it fun;
2- We've seen weddings where the couple have designated a corner in the reception area dedicated to our youngsters. Creative painting stations are always a hit! Maybe even have one of the oldest of the kids direct the younger kids on what the inspiration photo of the night is and let each artist paint away. At the end, let them present their artwork to one another explaining what it means to them. Each artist will get to take home their personal painting along with a nice goodie bag!
3-These past couple of years, Lego's have been the must have item for kids. "Building Our Love Brick by Brick," is a super cute way to incorporate this into any wedding. Again, have a section where kids can feel liberated and be themselves. Include treats and activities.
